Life is too short…
1. to be afraid of taking risks.
2. to be self-conscious.
3. to drink bad wine.
4. to care what others think of you.
5. to keep up with the Jones’s.
6. to not dance to the music. Even if it’s only in your head.
7. to be who you aren’t.
8. to not love unconditionally.
9. to feel guilty.
10. to let others make you feel bad about yourself.
What about you?

All of these are applicable but I am so vibing on #6 right now. Seems so strange to say out loud, but dancing literally is one of my biggest fears. I’m even self conscious in my own living room and totally alone! Come to think of it, this also incorporates #1, 2, 4, 7 and 10! Get over myself on this and I can knock out half of them!
And then I’ll go back to an easy one like #3.
I used to dance in my living room all the time. It was liberating. And at some point I got super uptight about it and stopped. But it made me feel good. So it’s time to just do it.
You know #1 is on my list. But it also includes:
* to read bad books (I used to pride myself on finishing every book I started reading, even if it was about as fun as gnawing off my own arm. No more.)
* to hate your chosen profession
* eat bad food
* drink bad beer
I used to feel compelled to finish every book I started too. What if I just hadn’t gotten to the good part? But if I’m not engaged in it from the beginning, forget it.
Your post actually got me thinking—thus, my #1.
I like hating your chosen profession. That makes life entirely too difficult.
to not eat ice cream for dinner on a bad day.
to not text your best friends a two word text :love you…when the mood strikes you.
to not read whatever makes you happy.
To not eat ice cream for dinner. Or to not eat cereal for dinner. That’s my favorite comfort thing to do. Drives my husband nuts to see me hunkered over a bowl of Capt’n Crunch.
Texting you best friend is a great one!
Oh, number 1: fear fear fear.
You’ve seen ‘Defending Your Life,’ haven’t you? Even death is too short for fear.
You get an AMEN from me. Great list.
I love all of them. I’d include: Life’s too short to not take time to enjoy quiet moments.
