Some days are just hard. Period. It doesn’t matter if you wake up in a good mood or not, there are certain days that are just destined to go badly.
Like yesterday.
I woke up in a decent mood but the day just didn’t go well. And the end of the day was just the snot on top of my crap sundae.
I got home from work and while I was fielding a call from my boss, the puppy was following me around the kitchen throwing up. She horked up grass and vomit about 8 times. I tried to behave like a professional on the phone, but it’s kind of hard when all I can hear is retching. Meanwhile, Bill, who was making himself some dinner, just walked out of the kitchen to leave me with all of the chaos. HE couldn’t deal.
After I picked a fight with Bill over that one (I really wasn’t wrong), he decided to pick a fight with me over something else. Marriage at its best, yo.
When I thought my night couldn’t (and wouldn’t) get any worse I let the dogs in the house and freaked out when I saw that Gracie’s head and neck were covered in blood. It was straight-up horror movie gore. I immediately tried to find and stop the flow of blood on her and…nothing.
It wasn’t hers.
Turns out Penny just lost a couple of puppy teeth and decided that teething on Gracie was the way to relieve her pain.
So two arguments, eight piles of puke and a massacre quantity of blood later, I called it a night.
Today is a new day.
Here are three things that I’m grateful for today:
1. Yesterday is over.
2. Tomorrow is Friday.
3. The day after that is Saturday.
(Some days you gotta take what you can get.)
What are you grateful for?

You poor thing!! And your poor hubs and dogs! Ice cream for everyone!!
My three things:
1. I’m off tomorrow.
2. I’m off Monday.
3. My new phone is en route.
That’s all I’ve got this week. Overall? The week sucked ass, so a 4-day weekend is just what I need.
You absolutely were right in that argument (in case you’re still keeping score). My 3 things:
1. Although I love the heat it’s been unrelenting so I’m grateful for the monsoon that’s expected this afternoon which will take away the humidity.
2. It’s Friday
3. I’ve booked every Monday off this summer!!
Yeah, marriage is difficult sometimes. My sympathies…
1. We’re finally back in Lodnon where it is cooler than NYC.
1.5. We don’t have to go to NYC in August.
2. We’ve officially & successfully got our visas in place.
3. I just started planning a vacation in the Italian alps.
If any ass ever suggests you’re missing out on anything not being a parent of a human, this is proof positive that you’re not. You’re an A+ Mommy, wife and employee!
1. Friends like you that might come and hang with me Monday.
2. A writing job even though said paycheck is still “in the mail”.
3. Alaska. Friday. And the teen that will watch my pets for me.
Sooooooo been there done that as a matter of fact, think we’ve lived dual lives this week. Cheers to the day after…and the day after that.
Mary: I think we should petition to have 4-day weekends every week. I’d be such a happy girl if that were the case.
XUP: EVERY Monday? How in the world did you swing that? That’s amazing. And I’m jealous. Enjoy your three-day weekends!
Kimberly: I think you were in NYC during one of those once every 1- years heat waves! Did you have a good time anyway?
Eve: You’re going to Alaska at the perfect time—it’s going to start hitting that 100-degree mark this week. Have a great time!
Wenderly: The good news is, that week is behind us. Here’s to a great week ahead!
Even though your bad was not funny, it made me LOL. I have lived that so many times. Definitely a little easier to laugh when it’s someone else’s experience, rather than your own. So what am I grateful for today?
1. Stumbling on your blog.
2. Your blog post that did make me smile.
3. Knowing that it’s 2:25am…and I’m so glad I don’t have to get up early tomorrow (er, today)!
